Saigon South International School (SSIS) teachers, as part of their teaching and learning, make use of online resources and software. This is done in a phased, developmentally appropriate way. Students receive individualized usernames, passwords and restricted email accounts beginning in Grade 1. Some of the software applications and web-based services are operated not by this school but by third parties. The table below lists some of the internet-based software that your child may have registered for using their ssis.edu.vn account.
In order for our students to use these programs and services, certain personal identifying information -- generally the student’s name and email address -- must be provided to the website operator.
The regulation allows for schools such as ours to collection personal information on behalf of all of its students, thereby eliminating the need for individual parental consent given directly to the website operator.
The guidelines and regulations are specified in the Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA) and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation article 8.
